The Minnesota Vikings released practice-squad lineman Isame Faciane on Tuesday, following his DUI arrest during the team’s bye week. The Vikings once again added cornerback Tre Roberson to the practice squad.
Roberson, a former college quarterback at Indiana and Illinois State, was part of the Vikings final cuts. This is his third stint on the practice squad after going undrafted coming out of college.
Berserker Viking’s take: A 6-foot corner is just the type of development player head coach Mike Zimmer loves. While Roberson won’t likely see the 53-man roster this season, having defensive back of his size and athletic ability stashed away is never a bad thing. Roberson is also the only defensive back on the practice squad at this point.
Minnesota has been trying to clean up its off-the-field image under Zimmer so Faciane had to go after what Zimmer coined as a “stupid” arrest. It is a shame for Faciane considering how decimated the Vikings offensive line has been.
